There are very few beverages that make me want to shout from the rooftops about their existence. I don't hop on the PSL train when the leaves start to turn color, but I do make an exception for the tastiest thing you can get in a carton from Trader Joe's and guess what? It's back!

Wait, what? What's back you say? It's the Chocolate Peppermint Almond Beverage from Trader Joe's! When I found the product in stores last year (which tends to be a pilgrimage of sorts for me as the closest TJ's is a 40-minute drive!), I instantly made fun of the name.

You can't call it "milk" because it isn't cow milk. So, it's a beverage! But there aren't too many times that you walk into a room and ask your children, "Kids, would you like some Chocolate Peppermint Almond Beverage?" It just sounds funny. So, of course, I had to pop it in my cart on the name alone and quickly fell in love. I've yearned for its deliciousness as it quickly faded from shelves after the holiday season was up.

But it's back! Last year it went in our oatmeal, it went in our mugs for hot chocolate, it was added to frostings and pancakes and was even used as a smoothie base (something has to cover kale, right?). It's made from almonds, Dutch-process cocoa, and peppermint as the name might suggest, but none of those ingredients overpower any other! It's balanced.

This carton is the drink that does it all, hot or cold, iced or with melty marshmallows in it or shamefully drank from the carton in the parking lot with your children before the long drive back home. Not that I speak from experience on that one. Wait, admitting our food shame is cool now? Oh, well then I've totally done it and worn the chocolate peppermint mustache that went with it!
