December 28, 2017

Whether you have 10 square feet or 100, humans are rarely satisfied with the size of their kitchens. We wrote a lot about small kitchens this year and that means we have plenty of advice to help you love your space way more than you do. Give this a read, steal the tips, and prepare your heart for a whole new love.

1. Eliminate the clutter.

Clutter is always the enemy — especially in a small kitchen. Clutter makes a room look even smaller. And it makes it harder to do what you need to do. Luckily, we've got some tips for getting rid of it all.

2. Work smarter.

3. Steal ideas from unexpected places.

Inspiration is all around us! Even the tiniest of kitchens can give you some good storage ideas for your own space.

4. Take advantage of all the space you have.

So you've got two square-feet to work with? That's more than nothing! You just have to get creative and put every single inch to good use.

5. Make it look bigger.

Whether you live in a small apartment, an older (pre-island fetish) home, or just an average house, you probably wish your kitchen was a little bit bigger. Or at least wish it looked bigger, right? We can't help you increase the square footage, but we can help with the second part of that.

6. Give yourself a little dining area.

You almost always have room for (at least) a tiny dining table. We've got all sorts of tricks for squeezing one in — plus, a few to buy.

7. Be proud of your little space.

Stop being embarrassed by it or claiming that you can't host a dinner party because your space is too small. You can make it work and you should be proud of it. Tell yourself how much you love it, and eventually you really will.
