The 10 Best Amazon Finds We Featured in 2017 — The Best of 2017

December 30, 2017

Amazon seriously sells everything under the sun. So how are you supposed to narrow it all down to what you should actually buy? We wrote about the site extensively in 2017 and these stories should be able to help you.

Here's what you should buy in 2018.

1. Prime Surprise Sweets

Designed with sugar-lovers in mind, Prime Surprise Sweets is an invite-only club that's surprisingly simple to join. (You just have to request an invite and then they'll send you one!) Then, the program works off the Dash Button system. So you pay $5 for the Amazon Sweets Dash Button (you get that money back as a credit when you order your first box), then whenever you feel a craving for sweets coming on, you push the button.

2. The Instant Pot

Yes, you can buy the Instant Pot at Target, Costco, or even your local grocery store. But between Prime Day, Cyber Monday, and other daily sales, you can almost always get a good deal on the gadget through Amazon. Plus, there's that whole free shipping thing.

3. Any Deal of the Day

Earlier this year, we launched a reoccurring story called Amazon Deal of the Day, in which we highlight a single product (that happens to be on major markdown) each day. We've written about things like our favorite sheet pans, the best kitchen towels, the only travel mug that works, and more. While some of these sales are long over, many tend to come and go throughout the year.

4. Groceries from Amazon Prime Pantry

For those who aren't familiar, Amazon Prime Pantry is a Prime service that sends groceries and household products to, um, your pantry! Prime Pantry boxes vary in size and can hold up to 45 pounds. Your order gets packaged based on the dimensions and weight of the products you pick, and there's a tracker that tells you what percentage of the box is filled. It's a very easy way to get groceries into your house.

5. Lunch box snacks

"There's really something to be said for having snacks delivered to my door," says our Associate Food Editor and mom of two, Meghan Splawn. "Not only can I find unique snacks, but I also save myself a grocery trip and I can order those snacks on repeat as soon as I run low (and not just when I remember at the grocery store)."

6. The in-house brand treats

Of course Amazon makes its own snacks. The private label, Wickedly Prime, consists of a few dozen treats, and each of them is as good as the last.

7. IKEA goodies

In June, we reported that IKEA will start selling products on third-party websites like — wait for it — Amazon.

8. Last-minute holiday supplies

You don't need us to tell you that the free rush shipping you get as a Prime Member is totally clutch. It can save you in a pinch year-round — and especially right before major holidays.

9. Top-rated cleaning supplies

In addition to the fact that Amazon basically sells everything, the site has one other major thing going for it: a ton of extremely thorough and honest reviewers. If something has hundreds (or more!) of five-star reviews and loads of glowing written recommendations, you know it's gotta be good. After all, you don't want to spend money on (or wait two days for) something that's not going to work!

Here are some of our personal favorite cleaning supplies that also rank among the best of the best, according to the online universe.

10. Wine

Amazon has a deep collection of wine, which can either be shipped or quickly delivered directly to your door.
