With so many design examples at our fingertips, discovering what your kitchen goals are can be daunting — especially when the space you have to execute them is not exactly substantial. You might have a galley kitchen or lack a ton of cabinetry or square footage, but that doesn't mean your kitchen goals can't be as lofty as someone with a bigger space.

1. A fairytale kitchen exploding with color

I mean, there are clouds on the dishwasher for crying out loud! Talk about dreamy! The downtown Los Angeles rental of Amina Mucciolo (the creative force behind Studio Mucci) and her husband is a direct reflection of her Technicolor personality. Pastel washi-tape-covered cabinets, inflatable flamingoes, and handcrafted tassels hanging from the ceiling — this fairytale kitchen is a dream in the most literal sense!

2. A clean and classic kitchen

Adam and Amber Ford run a lifestyle blog called The Happy Tudor, where they share renovations they've done to their 1940s Tudor home room by room. The kitchen used to be a dark and dingy space, and by adding bright quartz countertops, light shaker cabinets with brass hardware, a white tile backsplash, and simple white, slightly retro-style appliances, they kept the basic footprint of the kitchen but opened it up to feel larger, classic, and chic.

3. A voluminous small kitchen

This kitchen by Becki Owens feels spacious because of the white palette and open floor plan, but I think she did an amazing job of fooling the eye when it comes to the actual footprint of the cabinetry and island. (Just don't ask me where the fridge is.)

4. A goliath galley kitchen

Designer Grant Gibson made use of every square inch of his San Francisco apartment, including in the kitchen, where he only had one wall for cabinetry, so he sent it all the way up to the ceiling and had the lower cabinets fade into the floor. Not to mention, that black-and-gold La Cornue oven is to die for.

5. The Everygirl kitchen

Danielle Moss from The Everygirl has to live somewhere, and of course it's going to be effortlessly chic, even if her kitchen is a small galley space inside her Chicago apartment. During her renovation, she lightened everything up, used a handsome black-and-white scheme, and even managed to fit in a small bistro table since the apartment doesn't have a traditional dining room. They key here for sure is the natural light flooding the space.

6. A pool house dream

I never thought I'd love open shelving so much, but this glass-and-gold shelving is super classy. Studio Life.Style's choice of giant pendants and director's counter stools for this pool house show that just because a space is compact doesn't mean the furnishings have to be.

7. A tiny home's tiny kitchen

Having a tiny home with a tiny kitchen doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style. It can still be dreamy — like this one, designed by Kim Lewis, with super-cool industrial-modern pendants, a chic black backsplash and ceiling, and a smart island on casters packed with a refrigerator door and stove burner.

8. The anything-but-the-blues kitchen

This kitchen renovation might include a gorgeous saturated blue paint for the cabinetry, but it should make you anything but sad. It's the stuff that kitchen dreams are made of: oversized brass hardware, subway tile, cool pendants, plenty of storage, and did I mention that super-pigmented blue paint?

9. A charming vintage kitchen

The entire studio is 350 square feet, so that doesn't leave much for this small kitchen. But it still manages to offer a giant serving of lovely and delightful, thanks to its high ceilings and pre-war architectural details like the fireplace and ceiling medallion.

10. A kitchen on an Airstream

Okay, this kitchen had me at hello. It feels teeny-tiny, but that's because it's on a bus — a 1971 Airstream Sovereign, to be exact. But even still, every detail is alluring: the hexagon tile backsplash, the modern sconces, the air plants, the brass faucet, and there's even a skylight! You might almost forget you're not in a conventional house.
