The Costco food court is a magical place full of giant pizzas and an unbeatable hot dog lunch deal. Sure, it often has long lines, and a lot of people seem to have problems figuring how how to stand in them, but the food is inexpensive and plentiful and people adore it.

Not all Costco food courts serve the same food, however. We might be used to the offerings at our own Costcos, but around the world, Costco food courts serve regional specialties. Over on the Costco forum on Reddit, one user posted a photo of a Costco food court in Cardiff, Wales, and everybody was stunned to see the loaded potatoes and cottage pies people can buy at Costco in the U.K.

"Thought you guys might enjoy seeing a British store," a Reddit user going by peanutismint wrote. "This is Cardiff in Wales."

At first glance, it looks just like any Costco food court in the U.S. It has the same large signs, and the same line of cash registers. A closer look at the signs, however, reveals the Costco shoppers of Britain are getting some very different food.

British Costco food courts have the same beloved "quarter-pound hot dog and soda" deal as the rest of the world, but theirs costs £1.50, or about $2. They also have the famous Costco pizza, but theirs comes in five-cheese, pepperoni, and barbecue chicken flavors.

British Costco also has an Aberdeen Angus Cottage Pie, which is like a shepherd's pie, but with beef instead of lamb. There's also a double chicken filet sandwich, which has two chicken patties on a bun and looks positively enormous.

One of the more surprising items on the Costco food court menu in Cardiff is "jacket potatoes," or a baked potato stuffed with toppings for just $2. The potatoes can be stuffed with baked beans, cheese, beef chili, coleslaw, tuna, and even something called "chicken baconnaise," which appears to be chicken dressed in bacon-flavored mayonnaise. How Costco is not serving that in the U.S. is a mystery.

The British Costco food court also has a chicken bake, which is a huge stick of bread stuffed with chicken, bacon, and Caesar salad dressing. Some U.S. Costco food courts have these, too, but they can be hard to find. One Reddit user from Seattle boasted about having a Costco food court that serves both chicken bakes and churros, and instantly became the envy of the entire Costco Reddit forum.
