Hold on to your willpower, Target shoppers: the latest update to the mobile app for everyone's favorite "$100 store" now includes the Cartwheel coupon app — streamlining the popular savings program right into the brand's main mobile shopping experience.

An announcement today on A Bullseye View, Target's corporate blog, features an in-depth announcement from Target Senior Director of Apps and Digital Strategy Andrew Weisbecker, explaining what customers can expect from the improved Target app that now includes Cartwheel.

"Guests can now access everything they love about Cartwheel — like the ability to find deals at their store, redeem savings with one barcode scan and watch their lifetime savings soar — plus so much more," Weisbecker writes. "No need to switch back and forth, or maintain separate apps. Guests asked for this and we're happy to deliver."

If, like us, you're constantly deleting apps to make more room on your phone for (dog) photos — or you just can't stand the audacity of certain brands that continually produce separate mobile apps for various functions (ahem, Facebook Messenger) — then this announcement from Target is huge. Especially if you were already using Cartwheel coupons to plan your shopping trips and try to stay focused on your shopping list without being distracted by all the bright, shiny marketing tactics designed to separate you from your paycheck with pretty things you don't really need.

Target notes that existing Cartwheel users who used a social account like Facebook or Google will need to move to a Target.com account to make sure their existing offer lists and lifetime savings transfer over to the Target app.

Weisbecker also announced that future releases and updates to the Target app will include mobile payments for store loyalty REDcard holders and more changes to make the new consolidated mobile app "the ultimate place for guests to plan, shop and save at Target."

Shoppers can download "Target — now with Cartwheel" for iPhone in the Apple iTunes store and for Android at Google Play.
