August 29, 2017

There's always room for a little bit of vintage. From teak bowls to velvet mustard pillows, quirky salt and pepper shakers to old maps adorning empty walls, little trinkets here and there bring personality to a room. It doesn't matter if you like to go completely flea-market-chic with your house or are just hunting down that one perfect serving tray — whatever your level of vintage commitment, there's one place that will always have you covered: Etsy. Below is a roundup of some of our favorite shops to get you window shopping — enjoy!

Based in the Netherlands, this shop takes mid-century Danish style to a whole new level: you can literally decorate your whole apartment with their picks. From minimalist vases with a classic flair, to rattan accents and brass touches, each piece is sleek, quiet, but still wonderfully vintage. Be sure to check out their "about" section to see just how you can stage the pieces in your own rooms!

Scrolling through The White Pepper, you feel like you're walking through your favorite vintage mall. Cherry red suitcases, vintage gardening books, mid-century school globes, brass pineapples — you can practically feel the hearts coming into your eyes. Based in Virginia, this cute-as-a-button store is run by Christina, who found her love of all things '60s and '70s through her mother, who used to take her along on hunting expeditions through antique stores and junk shops. Now she's continuing the tradition a generation later, this time with her little son! You'll definitely find something to tempt your purse strings with in here.

Rocking modern mid-century home decor and housewares, Kibster has so many treasures you won't know where to look first. It's like the best of mid-century charm without any of the garage sale kitsch you usually have to sift through. From vintage sun tea canisters to minimalist planters to geometric candle holders, there's an accent here for every home.

This is a great vintage store if your tastes run the gauntlet, swinging anywhere from industrial and retro, to mid-century and modern. They have old space cadet lunch boxes and pretty mid-century bowls that are too cute to hide behind kitchen cupboards. They also have industrial 16-drawer cabinets and old college pennants — to root for those teams from yesteryears!

Wise Apple is a celebration of all things quirky, colorful and well-loved. Based in Buffalo, New York, Nikki opened up shop when she started running out of space to house all her treasures. Not about to quit treasure-hunting, she opened up a shop instead. If kitschy kitchenware is your speed (even if it's not, it's worth a gander) it's going to be impossible not to feel cheerful while scrolling through her playful tumble of home decor. Seriously — the colors remind you of rock candy!

If you love vintage maps, then look no further! But if you're not looking to create a gallery wall out of a 1930s atlas, there are plenty of other knick-knacks to swoon over, too. There are 1970s wine glasses and crystal candle holders, as well as travel guide books from the 1940s and brass pitchers. If your vintage style runs more sophisticated and library-esque, then this is the store for you.

Scoping out the best treasures in Detroit, this charming shop carries everything from housewares to light fixtures to seating, but their bowls and dishes are really what catches the eye. Sporting teak bowls, blown glass vases, and indigo blue Danish plates, you'll want to cover any and all flat surfaces in your house with their finds.

Katie and Adam run this Wonder Lake, Illinois, shop, in which they capture all the best parts of the Midwest from yesteryear. From retro to mid-century modern, and Art Deco to urban industrial, they cater to all kinds of vintage lovers. You can find stacks of wooden salad bowls next to mod polka dot teacup sets, as well as old vintage film cameras next to sky-blue candlesticks. You'll be hard pressed not to favorite them right away.

If you love knick-knacks, bric-a-brac, and old-school toys, you have found your happy place. Carrying everything from cherry red enamel coffee pots to vintage Fisher Price toys, there are treasures aplenty.

This store is packed with 100% retro finds — think "That '70s Show" mixed with your grandma's dishware earmarked for picnics at family pool parties. It's just hands down amazing, give it a peek!

Whether you're a fiend for vintage or just want a few accents to add some personality to your home, Etsy is definitely the place to shop.
