Trader Joe's Just Shared Their 15 Favorite Recipes — Grocery Shopping News

January 04, 2018

To start 2018 on a high note, Trader Joe's has just released their favorite 15 recipes. "It's time to start cooking," the company said in their latest Fearless Flyer. The collection includes recipes for every meal: breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, plus sides and appetizers. Whether you're trapped in the snow, or just looking for a few great lunch ideas that use products from your favorite grocer, this is for you.

Breakfast

Açaí Smoothie Bowl: Trader Joe's carries unsweetened açaí packets, and it's one of my favorite things to use for breakfast. To make this smoothie bowl you need a packet, granola, dates, bananas, frozen berries, almond milk, and any protein powder you usually use.

Hot Link Hash: You only need three things from Trader Joe's to make this recipe, so I'd say this is a huge breakfast win. Trader Joe's sells roasted potatoes with peppers and onions in the freezer aisle, which makes this recipe super simple to put together.

Citrusy Baked Oatmeal: Wake up to warm, baked oats thanks to Trader Joe's. The main ingredients in the recipe are oranges, rolled oats, trek mix, and honey.

Overnight Y'Oats: In case you're confused, "y'oats" means yogurt oats, and this overnight variety couldn't be easier. The four ingredients in this recipes are yogurt, almond milk, rolled oats, and chia seeds.

Lunch

Cowboy Quinoa Bake: Office lunch doesn't need to be hard when you have simple products from Trader Joe's. All you need is quinoa, black bean salsa, tomatoes, cilantro, and shredded cheese.

Warm Cruciferous Cranberry Slaw: This winter lunch slaw is made easy, thanks to the smart addition of bagged salad. The "cruciferous crunch collection" includes kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, green cabbage, and red cabbage.

Channa Masala Pasties: This pasties recipe is so smart! You just need three ingredients: pie crusts, pre-made channa masala, and an egg.

Slow Cooker Chicken Chile Verde: This slow cooker recipe uses jarred salsa and chicken thighs. You combine all the ingredients (besides toppings) in your slow cooker, and four hours later you have a meal.

Fancy Figgy Glazed Chicken: Did you know Trader Joe's makes fig butter? I didn't until I read this recipe roundup! You take the fig butter and add it to some Dijon mustard and champagne vinaigrette before rubbing it all over a chicken and throwing it in the oven. How elegant is that?

Savory Butternut Squash Soup: It's cold out, and that means you need to eat soup. This grocery store upgrade uses boxed butternut squash soup and adds cooked sweet Italian sausage into it for something savory.

Banana Bread with Roasted Cocoa Nibs: The secret to Trader Joe's banana bread recipe isn't in the mix, and it isn't in the roasted cocoa nibs. No, this banana bread has tahini in it!

Sunflower Seed Spread Cookies: This five-ingredient cookie recipe uses sunflower butter and bourbon vanilla extract to get its flavor.

Frank's Blueberry Muffins: This recipe comes from one of the crew members at Trader Joe's and has apparently evolved quite a bit over the years. Frank, the creator of the recipe, advises eating them warm with a little added butter.

Kiss My Cornbread with Jalapeños & Bacon: Yes, this cornbread recipe includes jalapeños and bacon, but what makes them extra special is the two-ingredient drizzle sauce on the side (honey butter!).

Sweet Balls of Fire: This three-ingredient appetizer uses turkey meatballs, raspberry preserves, and sweet chili sauce.

What do you think of these Trader Joe's recipes?
