Zeus made a wedding gift of it to Hera. Louis XIV dedicated entire gardens to it. And everyone from Alfred Lord Tennyson to Hank Williams Jr. has cited it in verse. Still, I'm pretty sure no one has ever been more obsessed with the scent of orange blossom than yours truly.

Amazingly, one of the best orange blossom products on the market today is tucked away not at a parfumerie in Paris, nor behind the counter at Neiman's — but in the personal care aisle of your neighborhood Trader Joe's. (And I should know! I've made a career out of testing products as a beauty editor.)

Say quoi? Seriously, the Trader Jacques French Liquid Soap for Hand & Body in Orange Blossom Honey is the reason that — if you were to spy on me at home — you'd think I had a compulsive cleanliness problem. I don't. I just have an orange blossom problem. But lucky for my hands, this product hydrates and softens as it cleanses, thanks to its coconut oil, olive oil, and vegetable glycerin. So I'm not sacrificing my skin to my olfactory addiction.

It's also is kettle cooked in small batches, according to a traditional Marseille recipe, and still somehow only $4 a bottle.

This obsession made me wonder, recently: What other non-food treasures are hiding in plain sight as I shop for my Baconesque White Cheddar Popcorn and Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzel Slims?

After much snack-fueled recon, I give you three more must-try beauty-related finds from Trader Joe's.

1. Camel Milk Soap with Olive Oil & Honey, $2 for 4.93 ounces: I admit, I first picked this up on sort of a WTF basis. But beyond being a novelty, this camel milk (yes, camel milk!) bar creates a rich lather that, despite being technically fragrance-free, smells faintly of a lovely Turkish apothecary. (Or maybe that's just the power of suggestion — I read that the soap is a product of Turkey and went off to the Aegean in my mind.)
2. Tea Tree Tingle Bath & Body, $4 for 16 ounces: This family of shampoo and conditioner cleanses and conditions nicely. And it lacks the one thing I find annoying about most tea tree oil-infused scalp care: a medicinal scent. The fact that this tea tree oil is paired with mint makes a huge difference. In fact, at first whiff, mint is the dominant note (there's also a hint of eucalyptus in there).
3. Nourish Spa Balanced Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner: This is the ideal duo for color-treated hair that needs a little extra moisture, sans pigment-stripping sudsing agents. Marquee ingredients include shine-enhancing argan oil and nourishing mango extract.
