There's science behind the logic of noodle slurping. First, you get more taste from the eating method, and second, it's just wildly fun to do. Unfortunately, in many social circles, it's not polite to slurp your food — even noodles. But Nissin, the maker of Cup Noodles, has found a way around that. Want to see how it works?

You guys, if this doesn't make dinner fun, I'm not sure what will. The fork encourages you to slurp by making wild noises for each slurp heard. Super-cool tech folks made it so that every time a slurp is detected, it sends a signal to your cell phone to play a sound weirdly similar to ... a water park slide? Toilet flushing? Superhero taking off for flight? Usually, those three things aren't thought to be similar, but you'll see what I mean after watching the above video.

I'm not so sure if the phrase noise-canceling is super accurate, since it just plays a louder, different sound over it. Traditionally, we use that phrase in conjunction with headphones that drown out exterior sound so you can hear your own tunes without cranking up the volume.
