My water bottles are not organized, really — they are just on a shelf and the lids are piled in a nearby bin. It works fine, except the bottles are always tipping over and seem to multiply without my realizing it! After researching this story, however, I'm tempted to try one of these smart hacks to actually get them organized — once and for all. Who knew there were so many solutions to this annoying problem?

Here are five places to try storing your water bottles.

1. In a wine rack

Hey, a bottle's a bottle, right? Steal this trick from Abby of Just a Girl and Her Blog and use a wine rack to keep your water bottles neatly stacked.

2. In a shoe organizer

Yes, you're looking at a laundry room, but there's no reason you can't repurpose this idea from Lela, the blogger behind In the New House, for a pantry door. Just hang a shoe organizer on the back of the door and slide a water bottle into each compartment.

3. In a magazine holder

Turned on its side, a magazine holder is just the right size to keep a few water bottles stacked. I love the way Kris from Driven by Decor paired wooden magazine holders with wicker baskets for a cohesive pantry look.

4. In wire bins

Jen from I Heart Organizing redid her coat closet and used these wire bins, which were actually already in the closet, to corral her water bottles. Try it in your pantry or kitchen — the bins will keep the bottles from toppling over!

5. In a drawer with DIY dividers

As soon as Jaime of That's My Letter realized she had enough clearance to stand her water bottles up in a pull-out drawer, her entire world was flipped upside down. She cut some pieces of 1x4 pine board down to size and used wood glue and a nail gun to add dividers to the drawer. The dividers keep the bottles in neat, even rows and prevent them from falling over.
