Instagram Is Freaking Out Over This Breakfast "Hack" from Food Network — Pop Culture

September 28, 2017

You never know what's going to get people riled up over next. This week it was a suggestion from the Food Network on Instagram for making your morning routine easier. Who doesn't love a good food hack, right? But when the hack takes longer than the task it's trying to replace, look out — the internet will come after you!

In a genuine attempt to help you save time in the morning, Food Network made a simple suggestion: Spread peanut butter on parchment paper, flatten, and freeze. You can then break off squares and place them directly on sandwiches in the morning.

Seems easy enough, and although this might be a good trick if you don't want to dirty a knife each morning, most folks had the same reaction: How hard is it to spread peanut butter? "You should have posted this on April fools," said one commenter.

Although this hack isn't a huge time-saver for most, we can see it being beneficial for something like adding peanut butter (or any nut butter, for that matter) in thin strips to baked goods such as brownies or cookies. Spreading peanut butter on already gooey brownie batter isn't super easy, and this might be exactly what the doctor ordered! Lay down a few squares and you're good to go.

Can you think of any smart ways this trick would actually help you in the kitchen? Let us know in the comments!
